Software Configuration Management
Determine what is needed for and provide Run II code developers with an environment that allows them to develop, build, check and test their software. Provide a framework for the distribution and maintenance of the code for Run II.
This will include infrastructure and framework support for file version control, code and documentation repositories, support for software builds, management of software versions, communication of and control of changes to the software, distribution and installation of software, testing framework, bug detection and tracking.
Identification of needs. Provision of software tools, framework, documentation and support.
During the ongoing lifetime of the project identify other needs - such as insulating users from future changes in technology and tools.
