Status Report for Support DB Project,  3/22/99


DBA
===================================

- All databases installed or upgraded at Oracle version 8.0.5 

- Received Oracle version 8i ,installing on D0 development machine (d0ora1) 
  with raw partitions.

- Hot backups implemented on fncduh, fncdug, and d0ora1.  Work underway to 
  implement on other servers as needed.

- Replication being setup on cdfora and b0dau30 in preparation 
  for testing.

- Oracle client 8.0.5 for NT and linux tested and  packaged in ups.

- Reviewing tnsnames implementation (different for on-site/offsite?).


Code Development
==================================        

- Delivered Oracle OCI interface code to CDF for integration into their 
  Calibration DB / code generation plans 

- Work underway for java API to CDF Calibration DB / code generation. 

- Work underway to adapt D0/Sam DB object server into a generalised
  DB server for D0 Calibration, D0 Run Controls and possibly CDF calibration.
