Joint CDF/D0/CD Run II Computing Meeting of April 7, 1998

HPSS Workshop -- John Bakken gave the status of preparations for HPSS Workshop on April 20/21 and showed the draft agenda.

PASSUMA -- Gene Oleynik reported on progress in the working group looking at Support and Maintenance requirements for Physics Analysis Software. The group have covered a number of the candidate products:

• PAW
• Root with some emphasis on cint
• Freeware: Java Analysis Studio and Octave
• LHC++ and Nirvana (today)
• Commercial (next week)

• Have had good in-depth coverage of support & maintenance issues

• Should have a draft of general requirements sometime next week. Have basic questions, need to add in methods (recipe form)
• Starting up a list of support and maintenance issues, for candidate products, that should be in good shape in a couple of weeks

PASFRG -- Irwin Gaines gave a summary of progress which the group had made. The evolving requirements document can be found on the PASFRG home page

Objectivity/DB -- Simona Rolle gave a report on behalf of the sub-group of the Data Access Methods working group which is looking into Objectivity. She gave a summary and distributed a recent document of the group CDF4522 - An Interim Status Report from the Objectivity/DB Working Group which contains some benchmarks of "loading" objects and "reading" objects.

Tools and Configuration Management -- Ruth Pordes gave a status report
