Further discussions on the Physics Analysis Software Working groups

• Irwin is going to set up demo/visits/etc for LHC++ tools
• Contacts are ongoing with Rene Brun on Root
• The dates of the d0 software workshop should be noted - January 19-23
• Discussion of platform support. Sun and HP are the 2 CERN 'strategic' platforms for LHC experiments - neither of which we are supporting for Run II at present.
• Timescale for deliverables for the working group is notably absent - either add - or task chairpeople to define themselves early on
• perhaps other outside institutions could be solicited for involvement, once we understand what we are doing better

Kai compiler and Open Inventor:-

Contacts have been made with TGS and there are ongoing discussions involving numbers of licences and/or costs to port Open Inventor to the Kai compiler.

We need to get the first order to Kai for compilers - then add further licences later.
